Earl the Polar BearBy:Casey
Earl, the friendly polar bear, was very tired of looking at nothing but northern snow and ice. There was cold snow as far as he could see. “I’m soooooo tired of this snow,” the angry Earl told his mother. “I’m going to go where I can see something different.”
“But you are a polar bear,” said his mother.

It didn’t matter to Earl. He packed up his things and started walking south to Wichita, Kansas, but he fastly stopped himself when he gladly remembered that it was joyously Christmas Eve. He smartly thought that he would have the fat Santa Claus take him to Wichita. He happily started heading to Santa’s house when he surely spotted Harry the Arctic fox, and asked him if he wanted to come with him to the happy city of Wichita. Harry immediately said yes, and they happily headed off to the wonderful Santa’s house.

When they got to Mr. Claus’ house, he greeted them with crumpets, tea, and slushies. That night, he brought them on his amazing trip around the world, and dropped them off in the awesome place of Wichita, Kansas. “But there’s snow here, too!” Earl cried. “That’s because it’s the marvelous season of winter,” Santa said, rubbing his belly, “but on the bright side, those cookies from that last house were very, very good!” “Hey cheer up, big guy,” Harry the white Arctic fox said to Earl, thoughtfully trying to cheer him up, “at least there isn’t as much snow as there was up north.” “That’s true,” Earl said, sadly wiping away his tears. Then, Earl and Harry said in unison, “Goodbye, Santa! Also, thanks for the ride!”

After that, they quietly snuck into the Towne East Mall so that they could sleep on the beds in the furniture store. The now rested friends woke up at 5:00 so that they could sneak out before anyone saw them. As they were wandering on the streets, they saw a lizard that was green, about 15 inches long, and its tail was much longer than its body. “Hey look, Harry, it’s a lizard!” said Earl. “Who has a name!!!!!!!!!!!!” said the lizard. “Oh, I’m sorry, what is your name?” said Earl. “Earl,” said the lizard. “What?” said Earl the white polar bear. “Earl, my name’s Earl,” said the lizard. “Well isn’t that funny!” said Earl the polar bear, “My name’s Earl, too!” “Cool. Well, the reason that I came up to you is because I’m supposed to be in an 80o climate during the day and I’m FREEZING so, if you could be kind enough as to let me sit on your shoulder for body heat.” Immediately, Earl the polar bear picked Earl the lizard up and set him on his shoulder. “Oh yeah,” said Earl the polar bear, “and his name’s Harry.”

All three of them walked around Old Town for a while until they heard a young boy loudly shouting, “There you are, Earl!!!!!!!!!!!” Earl the lizard, Earl the polar bear, and Harry the Arctic fox all looked over and saw a boy, 10 years old by the looks of him, looking very happy. Earl the lizard jumped off of Earl the polar bear’s shoulder, ran to the boy, ran up to the boy’s shoulder, and yelled, “CASEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” “Who are your friends?” asked the boy, happy because he found his pet, and apparently named Casey. “The polar bear’s named Earl…” said Earl the lizard. “Hey, that’s cool, you’re both named Earl!” interrupted Casey. “And the fox is named Harry,” said Earl the lizard. “Earl, we have to go to Miami, Florida because that’s where my family is. See, we were planning to go there over Christmas break, but then you ran away so my dad gave me his credit card so that when I found you, I could buy a plane ticket for me to go to Miami. I was just going to bring you in my pocket,” said Casey. “But my friends,” said Earl the lizard. “I bet my parents wouldn’t mind if I bought some extra plane tickets,” said Casey. All four of them started heading off to Mid-Continent Airport.

When they got there, Casey bought the plane tickets and they all boarded a plane. When they landed, they sure didn’t land in the shiny city of Miami. They landed in Antarctica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After they got off of the plane, Harry yelled, “HOW DO WE GET OUT OF HERE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!” “Do we all know how to swim?” said Earl the polar bear. “Yep,” the rest of the people said in unison. It took them 1 week to swim to the sunny city of Miami, Florida.
